Revolutionizing Agriculture: Highlights from the Tumaini Karau Ward Farmer Field Day

FarmSafi was honored to participate in the recent Farmer Field Day, a high-impact event organized by partners within the Kenya Sustainable Potato Initiative (KSPI). The initiative, which brings together key stakeholders like the National Potato Council of Kenya (NPCK), KALRO, and Egerton University, aims to enhance the productivity and incomes of smallholder potato farmers across the country. As a leader in agricultural technology, FarmSafi took center stage to demonstrate how integrating modern machinery and sustainable energy can revolutionize the potato value chain and dairy integration. High-Tech Highlights from the FarmSafi Stand Our exhibit focused on solving the two biggest challenges facing the modern Kenyan farmer: resource scarcity and high cost of labor. 1. Advanced Seed Multiplication (Aeroponics & Hydroponics) To

address the chronic shortage of clean, certified potato seeds, we showcased our Aeroponics and Hydroponics systems. These soil-less technologies allow for: Rapid Multiplication: Producing higher volumes of mini-tubers in a shorter timeframe. Disease Control: Eliminating soil-borne pathogens like Bacterial Wilt from the start. Water Efficiency: Using up to 90% less water than traditional methods. 2. Renewable Energy: Solar for Agriculture We demonstrated our Solar Energy Solutions designed for rural off-grid farms. From powering irrigation pumps for potato plots to providing lighting for farm security, solar energy is the key to reducing operational overheads and ensuring climate resilience. 3. Dairy Integration: Automated Milking Machines Many potato farmers in Kenya practice mixed farming. To support the dairy side of their business, we

showcased our Portable Milking Machines. These units ensure: Improved hygiene and milk quality. Reduced labor time (milking in minutes, not hours). Better animal welfare and increased milk let-down. Partnership for a Sustainable Future The Kenya Sustainable Potato Initiative (KSPI) is a testament to the power of collaboration. By working alongside partners who specialize in research, policy, and market access, FarmSafi provides the technological engine that makes sustainable farming a reality.
